Following comprehensive assessments of the Northwest districts of Cambodia which recently experienced devastating flooding, DDM Social Welfare and Charity Foundation (DDMSWCF) responded quickly to bring some relief to the flood victims in the region.

On 10 April 2011, Dharma Drum Mountain Social Welfare and Charity Foundation offered financial assistance awards to a total of 125 Morakot-afflicted students in Jiaxian District of Kaohsiung City in the hope of encouraging them to commit to their studies, despite living in difficulties caused by Typhoon Morakot in August 2009.
On 26 March 2011, the Peace of Mind Relief Station in Liukuei District, Kaohsiung City, which operates under the Dharma Drum Mountain Social Welfare and Charity Foundation, offered financial assistance to a total of 277 students who were disadvantaged by Typhoon Morakot, the deadliest typhoon to impact Taiwan in recorded history.
8 April, 2011, has marked a special and wonderful occasion for all Buddhists in Taiwan. The internationally renowned Buddhist Master Thich Nhat Hanh, founder of the Plum Village in France, paid his second visit to Dharma Drum Mountain.

On 2 April 2011, the work of constructing permanent residence for the typhoon Morakot-afflicted people residing in Taoyuan District and Liukuei District of Kaohsiung City was cheerfully inaugurated.
Prior to the Transmission Day of Dharma Light on 12 February at the Dharma Drum Mountain World Center for Buddhist Education, a music concert was held at Taipei’s Sun Yat-San Memorial Hall on 10th and 11th February 2011 in memory of the late Venerable Master Sheng Yen.

On 20 March 2011, a special Dharma assembly was simultaneously hosted by every branch monastery of Dharma Drum Mountain (DDM) across Taiwan. The assembly was specially held to pray for the victims of the tsunami and the dead in northern Japan.
On 18 February, Venerable Dzongsar Jamyang Khyentse Rinpoche paid his first visit to the Yunlai Monastery in Taipei, the administration center of Dharma Drum Mountain.
In the early morning of 13 February 2011, sixty devoted members of ‘The Compassion Pilgrimage’ consisting of monastics from the DDM Sangha Community and lay practitioners departed from the Dharma Drum Mountain World Center for Buddhist Education in Jinshan District of New Taipei City.
