DDMSWCF celebrates the work of constructing permanent residence for the Morakot-afflicted people in Kaohsiung City

On 2 April 2011, the work of constructing permanent residence for the typhoon Morakot-afflicted people residing in Taoyuan District and Liukuei District of Kaohsiung City was cheerfully inaugurated.

The inauguration was jointly presided by Abbot President of Dharma Drum Mountain, Venerable Guo Dong, Secretary General of Dharma Drum Mountain Social Welfare and Charity Foundation, Venerable Guo Qi, Mayor of Kaohsiung City, Chu Chen, and other local officials and celebrities.

This cheerful project aims to provide a secure residence for people who have afflicted from the typhoon Morakot that occurred in August, 2009, and had brought the severe loss of properties and lives in southern Taiwan.

A total of 37 permanent residences will be ready to use by this September.
