DDM Promotes Six Ethics of the Mind Campaign with MOJ

The Dharma Drum Humanities and Social Improvement Foundation (DDHSIF) has launched a new cooperation program with the Ministry of Justice (MOJ) in support of the Six Ethics of the Mind campaign.

DDHSIF mentioned that the speech about the Six Ethics of the Mind will be held throughout the prisons in Taiwan, and a writing competition on Six Ethics of the Mind will be hosted at the end of 2011. According to DDHSIF, the speech will be held a total of 108 times.

On 23 March 2011, Secretary General of DDHSIF, Mr. Shen-I Lee, attended a joint press conference of DDHSIF and MOJ that took place at the Taoyuan Female Prison in Taoyuan City for the announcement of the project.

Minister of the MOJ, Mr. Yung-Fu Tseng, thanked DDHSIF very much for its long term compassionate and humanitarian efforts in caring for society as well as working towards the purification of one’s mind in an attempt to uplift one’s character for social peace and harmony.

He also said that the MOJ was very happy to work on the campaign with DDM as it was a wonderful way to rehabilitate inmates and help them to realize their mistakes and walk the right path again.

He acknowledged the invaluable lessons that could be learnt from the Six Ethics of the Mind program that had been initiated and taught by the late Venerable Master Sheng Yen.

Secretary General of the DDHSIF, Mr. Shen-Yi Lee agreed that the Six Ethics of the Mind program is a powerful tool that can help people to focus on doing good which will then help to sow the seeds of virtue in mankind leading ultimately to social peace and harmony.

The Six Ethics of the Mind refers to Family Ethics, Living Ethics, School Ethics, Environmental Ethics, Workplace Ethics, and Ethics between Ethnic Groups.
