Following comprehensive assessments of the Northwest districts of Cambodia which recently experienced devastating flooding, DDM Social Welfare and Charity Foundation (DDMSWCF) responded quickly to bring some relief to the flood victims in the region.

On 12 February 2011, approximately 8,000 followers of the Three Jewels in Buddhism gathered at the Grand Buddha Hall of Dharma Drum Mountain World Center for Buddhist Education in the Jinshan District of New Taipei City for the 'Day of Transmitting the Light’ ceremony.
On the eve of the Chinese Lunar New Year, Abbot President of Dharma Drum Mountain, Venerable Guo Dong, President of the Republic of China, Mr. Ying-Jou Ma, Premier of the Executive Yuan, Mr. Dun-Yi Wu, and Mayor of the New Taipei City, Mr. Li-Lun Chu, attended the New Year Prayer Ceremony at Lotus Bell Park in the Dharma Drum Mountain World Center for Buddhist Education, Jinshan District of New Taipei City.
Dharma Drum Transmission Day--Transmitting the Light of Dharma, the Wisdom of Buddhism: A Day to Commemorate the Teachings of Chan Master Sheng Yen

On 23 January 2011, the Ziyun Monastery of Dharma Drum Mountain in Kaohsiung City held the End-of-Year Philanthropic Party for 130 registered disadvantaged households, wishing them peace in the year of 2011. The event was attended by approximately 400 participants including volunteers.
On 2 January 2011, the Peace of Mind Relief Station in Nantou County of Dharma Drum Mountain Social Welfare and Charity Foundation (DDMSWCF) held a year-end philanthropic party for disadvantaged people from the neighboring districts of Tsaotun, Zhongliao and Mingjian. More than two hundred people attended the party.
From 19 January 2011, a five-day winter camp for youths organised by Dharma Drum Young Buddhist Society (DDYPS) was initiated at National Chi Nan University in central Taiwan, Nantou County. A total of 853 youths aged from 18 to 35 living locally and overseas, including Singapore, Malaysia, USA, Indonesia, Hong Kong and Macau, participated in the event.
On 10 January 2011, Abbot President of Dharma Drum Mountain, Venerable Guo Dong, and Secretary General of DDM Social Welfare and Charity Foundation, Venerable Guo Qi, arrived in the Kuken Township of Yunlin County in central Taiwan.
The Baoyun Monastery’s groundbreaking ceremony was held on 9 January 2011. Abbot President, Venerable Guo Dong, Taichung City Mayor, Mr Jason Hu and Changhua County Government Magistrate, Mr Boyuan Zhuo, were present for celebration.
On 15 January 2011, 72 couples gathered in the Grand Buddha Hall of the Dharma Drum Mountain World Center for Buddhist Education, Jinshan District of New Taipei City to exchange wedding vows and commit to starting their new families based on Buddhist principles and guidelines.
The first sign of hope in 2011 silently repelled the darkness of the chilly winter in 2010, bringing afresh brightness and energy to everyone. In welcoming the beginning of a new year, Dharma Drum Mountain sincerely wishes everyone is “Content with a Blessed Life”, living a joyful life of dedication and gratitude in the year 2011.
