Peace of Mind Relief Station in Nantou hosts Year-End Philanthropic Party

On 2 January 2011, the Peace of Mind Relief Station in Nantou County of Dharma Drum Mountain Social Welfare and Charity Foundation (DDMSWCF) held a year-end philanthropic party for disadvantaged people from the neighboring districts of Tsaotun, Zhongliao and Mingjian. More than two hundred people attended the party.

The event started off with the showing of a film to introduce the late Venerable Master Sheng Yen and his ideas, followed by the practicing of the Eight Form Moving Meditation and the chanting of Buddhist scriptures for the purification of the mind.

Director of DDM’s branch monastery in Taichung, Venerable Guo Yun, hosted the party on behalf of DDMSWCF to offer its warmest regards and blessings to all attendees.

In her address, she said that although we all had to face all kinds of difficulties in our life, we are able to face and deal with them smoothly by using the 4-step method taught by the late Venerable Master Sheng Yen i.e. ‘facing it, accepting it, dealing with it and letting go of it’ . She also encouraged the attendees to often cultivate good merits selflessly.

The party ended with the distribution of relief goods.
