The Dharma Drum Buddhist College and the Academy of Korean Studies signed a collaboration agreement together on 2 March, 2012, pledging to jointly enhance Buddhist studies and boost academic exchange.

On the 25th of February, 2012, 17 permanent houses have been built at Lungxin, in the Liuquei District of Kaohsiung City for the flood-afflicted victims. They were formally opened by the DDM Social Welfare and Charity Foundation and the Kaohsiung City Government.

To help examinees have a better understanding and appreciation of the Dharma Drum Sangha University (DDSU) and their possibly upcoming monastic life there, the DDSU specially held a two-day monastic camp at the DDM World Center for Buddhist Education from the 16th to the 18th March, 2012.

The Dharma Drum Mountain Social Welfare and Charity Foundation (DDMSWCF) visited the quake-afflicted students at Mianyang High School in northern Sichuan, China on the 7th February 2012, and offered care and financial aid to the students.

On 25 February 2012, the DDM World Center for Buddhist Education cordially welcomed Venerable Phraratpraiyattayaporn, the President of the Sangha Community in the Pathumthani Province of Thailand, together with thirty other Buddhist monastics.

On the 19th of February 2012, the Abbot President, Venerable Guo Dong, attended an assembly of the Dharma Practice Society of Dharma Drum Mountain at the Baoyun Monastery in Taichung.

The DDM Cultural Center participated in the 20th Taipei International Book Exhibition at the Taipei World Trade Center from 1 - 6 February, 2012, whereby DDM showed visitors the art of Chan with its publications and eco-friendly products.

The DDM Awakening Camp 2012, hosted by Dharma Drum Sangha University, commenced on the 2nd February 2012 at the DDM World Center for Buddhist Education.

Dharma Drum Mountain celebrated the 20th anniversary of its ‘Spiritual Environmentalism’ movement on the morning of 5 February, 2012, at the DDM World Center for Buddhist Education.

The Dharma Drum Mountain has marked the year 2012 as the Year of Protecting Spiritual Environment.
