DDMSWCF Permanent Housing Project Success at Lungxin, Kaohsiung

On the 25th of February, 2012, 17 permanent houses have been built at Lungxin, in the Liuquei District of Kaohsiung City for the flood-afflicted victims. They were formally opened by the DDM Social Welfare and Charity Foundation and the Kaohsiung City Government.

Abbot President, Venerable Guo Dong, Secretary General and Vice Secretary General of DDMSWCF, Venerable Guo Qi and Venerable Chang Fa attended to offer their blessings, as well as the Vice Mayor of Kaohsiung City Government, Mr. Chi-Yu Chen.

Vice Mayor Chen opened the celebrations by offering his gratitude to the DDMSWCF on behalf of the Kaohsiung City Government. He expressed thanks to DDMSWCF’s compassionate contribution to post-disaster reconstruction work, such as permanent housing for flood-afflicted victims caused by Typhoon Morakot in August 2009 and noted these projects were smoothly rolled out and successfully completed on schedule.

Following the prayer ritual by Venerable Guo Qi, Abbot President Venerable Guo Dong offered his warmest blessings and encouraged the flood victims to try to cultivate an inner sense of thankfulness at all times, in order to develop and maintain peace and happiness in the mind.

The event drew to a close as new residents of 17 permanent houses warmly presented a letter of gratitude to the Abbot President.
