On 25 September 2012, the DDM Social Welfare and Charity Foundation (DDMSWCF) medical team arrived at the Chenjiaba Township in northern Sichuan Province to offer treatment to disadvantaged villagers.

The Dharma Drum Mountain Social Welfare and Charity Foundation (DDMSWCF) works hard on the ideal of ‘Spiritual Environmentalism’.
On the morning of 18 April 2012, Abbot President Venerable Guo Dong was invited by the Director General of the National Immigration Agency (NIG), Li-Kung Hsieh, to deliver a speech to around one hundred NIG staff members.

The Dharma Drum Buddhist College (DDBC) celebrated its 5th anniversary on the 8th of April, 2012 at the DDM World Center for Buddhist Education.
Former President of Hua Fan University, Venerable Lung Xun, along with 16 other lay practitioners, visited the DDM World Center for Buddhist Education on 19 March 2012.
On 8 March, 2012, Abbot President Venerable Guo Dong was invited to attend the 80th anniversary of Cheng Ching Hospital in Taichung City, to give an inspirational talk to the hospital’s physicians and nurses.
On 16 March 2012, Abbot Venerable Fa Yao (Dhammadipa) of Chuang Yen Monastery, home of the Buddhist Association of the United States, paid his first visit to the DDM World Center for Buddhist Education.
To raise awareness of eco-conservation among monastics of DDM and the students of the Dharma Drum Buddhist College (DDBC), a lecture on ‘Endangered Species in the Plant Kingdom’ was specially held by the DDBC at the World Center for Buddhist Education on the 11th of March, 2012. .
