On 25 December 2010, Zhaiming Monastery in Taoyuan held the 2010 End-of-Year Philanthropic Party for disadvantaged families living in the neighboring districts of Daxi, Zhongli and Xinchu. More than one thousand people attended the party and received blessings from Zhaiming’s monastics.

On the morning of 14 March, 2010, approximately 1,400 people from across the world gathered at Taipei’s Nung Chan Monastery to become the Buddha’s followers at the refuge-taking ceremony presided by DDM’s Abbot President, Venerable Guo Dong.

After over two years of construction, on the morning of 27 February, 2010, Tien Nan Monastery of Dharma Drum Mountain was officially inaugurated. DDM’s Abbot President, Venerable Guo Dong, Taiwan’s Vice President, Mr. Vincent Siew (Wan-Chang, Siew), Magistrate of Taipei County, Mr. Hsi-Wei Chou, local celebrities, as well as more than three thousand devotees attended the event to offer their warmest blessings.

Abbot President Venerable Guo Dong is calling on everyone to assist in relief efforts to help the survivors of the Haiti earthquake who are now in dire need of relief materials such as medication, food and drinking water.
Dharma Drum Mountain Social Welfare and Charity Foundation (DDMSWCF) will join in a collaborative effort with the Nuestros Pequeños Hermanos (NPH) to provide the much needed medical support to Haiti’s earthquake survivors.


On the afternoon of 22 February, 2010, people from across the globe gathered at the DDM World Center for Buddhist Education in Jinshan Township, Taipei County, to attend the Dharma service held in memory of the Most Venerable Master Sheng Yen as they vow to carry on the teachings and spirit of the late Master.
