Music Concert Hosted by DDM to Commemorate the late Venerable Master Sheng Yen

On the evenings of 24 and 25 February, 2010, Dharma Drum Mountain specially hosted the ‘My Vows Are Eternal Music Concert’ at Taipei’s the Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall to commemorate the compassion and spirit of the late Venerable Master Sheng Yen, the Founder of Dharma Drum Mountain.



The seats of the Hall were filled up quickly before the start of the concert on both nights. Honorable guests from every aspect of Taiwanese society, including Taiwan’s Vice President Vincent Siew (Wan-Chang Siew) also attended the event in commemoration of the Master.

On behalf of the DDM Sangha Community Abbot President Venerable Guo Dong firstly expressed his utmost gratitude and warmest blessings to all attendees and wished everyone a happy, healthy and peaceful year in 2010.

The Abbot President also stressed that the first anniversary of the Master relinquishing his Dharma body was the best time to manifest our sincerest gratitude to the Master’s teachings and make vows to take on the duties for the welfare of humanity and ‘building a pure land on earth’.

He also said that the DDM Sangha Community will carry on the Master’s spirit and teachings for the good of society even during periods of hardship and to uplift the character of humanity in memory of the Venerable Master Sheng Yen.

The concert was fully supported by the community and earned everyone’s applause, symbolizing the Master’s compassionate and inspirational manners, which will continue to remain in one’s heart.
