On March 16, under the order of the state government, the 8-million population San Francisco Bay Area became the first region of compulsory home sequester in North American during the COVID-19 pandemic. To the residents, this may have been the most significant change to their daily lives since World War II, whereas this is a required course of Buddhist practices for the followers of the DDM San Francisco Bay Area Center.

Venerable Guo Che visited Dharma Drum Mountain Buddhist Association in San Francisco (DDMBASF) for the period of 11-25 July, 2011.
On 25 June, 2011, 130 people signed up for the one-day merit class chaired by Venerable Guo Yi and Venerable Guo Chou at DDM Vancouver.

By invitation of Dharma Drum Mountain Buddhist Association in San Francisco (DDMBASF), Venerable Chang Xin gave a special lecture on orthodox Chinese Buddhism from 12-23 May, 2011.
The director of both Dharma Drum Retreat Center and Chan Meditation Center in New York, Venerable Guo Xing, gave Dharma talks and presided over activities from 9-13 June, 2011, at the practice center of Dharma Drum Mountain Buddhist Association in San Francisco (DDMBASF).
The Abbot President of Dharma Drum Mountain, Venerable Guo Dong, paid his first visit to DDM’s Ontario Branch Office in Canada on 18 May 2011.
On 15 April, 2011, Dharma Drum Mountain Buddhist Association (DDMBA) in United States of America hosted a 3-day Chan camp. This was the third 360-Degree Chan Camp DDMBA hosted in San Francisco, for which a total of 18 students attended.
On May 14, 2011, Vesak Day was celebrated in Hornsby Mall. The event was organised by Venerable Ban Ruo, a Sydney-based Chan Buddhist monk, who has been the Buddhist chaplain in the NSW Police for five years.
Dharma Drum Mountain in Singapore held a three-day Dharma Assembly from 14 to 16 April, 2011. Approximately 200 people attended to practice and enjoy the Dharma.
Group 7 is an international group with 2 members from England, 1 from USA, 1 from Australia, 2 from Malaysia, 1 from Singapore and 1 fashi. Some members attended the first session of the 14-Day Retreat from 14 – 21 March 2011 and some members stayed on to attend the full retreat. At the end of the retreat all participants were divided into groups to share their experience at the retreat.
On 2 February 2011, Dharma Drum Mountain in Vancouver (DDM Vancouver) hosted a three-day Dharma assembly to celebrate the New Year. The assembly saw over 400 devout Buddhists from around the Vancouver area converging to participate in the chanting of Buddhist scriptures over the three days.
