DDM Vancouver Holds a One-Day Merit Class

On 25 June, 2011, 130 people signed up for the one-day merit class chaired by Venerable Guo Yi and Venerable Guo Chou at DDM Vancouver.

The class began in the morning with an introduction by Venerable Guo Yi of the program and its significance.

Venerable Chang Yung and Venerable Chang Wen presented the morning program which primarily focused on the introduction of Buddhist etiquette and thoughts of the late Venerable Master Sheng Yen.

In the afternoon, Venerable Guo Yi took the students on an in-depth tour of the history, missions, meanings and features of the DDM World Centre for Buddhist Education by using videos, discussions and printed resources.

The one-day class enabled every student to develop a greater understanding of the thoughts of Venerable Master Sheng Yen and the DDM World Centre for Buddhist Education, and inspired them to voluntarily make compassionate vows in the interest of sentient beings.
