DDM Singapore Hosts Three-Day Dharma Assembly

Dharma Drum Mountain in Singapore held a three-day Dharma Assembly from 14 to 16 April, 2011. Approximately 200 people attended to practice and enjoy the Dharma.

The event was conducted from 09:00 to 21:00 each day by three monastics from DDM’s Sangha Community in Taiwan, Venerable Guo Fang, Venerable Guo Fan and Venerable Chang Ji, who came especially for the event.

To minimize distractions, participants observed noble silence except for the chanting of Buddhist scriptures, and the use of electronic devices was prohibited over the three days.

The monastics taught that belief in cause-and-effect is essential for the ending of karma. Further, by faithfully following the teaching of the Three Jewels (the Buddha, the Dharma and the Sangha) they taught that one can nurture wisdom, be reborn in the western paradise and be free of the six realms of samsara, the wheel of suffering.
