DDM Vancouver Hosts Hot-Pot Party to Celebrate the New Year

On the afternoon of 29 January 2011, Dharma Drum Mountain in Vancouver (DDM Vancouver) specially hosted a hot-pot party for volunteers in celebration for the new year. Approximately 300 volunteers living in the Vancouver metropolitan area attended.

Volunteers including the Chan Drum and the DDM Vancouver Chorus provided an entertaining program, giving every volunteer a sense of peace and Chan joy.

During the event, Venerable Guo Chou, Venerable Chang Xing and Venerable Chang Geng offered their blessings and Dharma talks. Party attendees also sat together in the Grand Hall to watch the Dharma talk of the late Venerable Master Sheng on DVD to commemorate the Master’s compassionate spirit and great deeds.

Despite the sound of the rain outside, volunteers affirmed their vows for the new year of 2011, pledging support for the vision of ‘building a pure land on earth’ before enjoying the delicious hot-pot.
