The Celebration of Inauguration of DDM Thailand
On the morning of 16 August 2009, a new Dharma Drum Mountain office was formally inaugurated in the city of Bangkok, Thailand.
The Inauguration Ceremony began with a purification ritual presided by the Abbot President of DDM, Venerable Guo Dong, as well as other Venerables from the DDM Sangha Community in Taiwan.
The Representative of Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Thailand, Mr. Roy Y.Y. Wu, the President of DDM’s Dharma Upholders Society in Thailand, Mrs. Miaofen Sulin, and celebrities from Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia and Taiwan also attended the event to offer their warmest blessings.
Abbot President Venerable Guo Dong, on behalf of the DDM Sangha Community in Taiwan, first delivered his sincerest gratitude in his opening remarks towards those who have made this brand new and permanent office possible, he especially thanked Mrs Miaofen Sulin, for her hard work and compassionate contribution.
Venerable Guo Dong also emphasized that this DDM Thailand office will continue to spread the late Venerable Master Sheng Yen’s vision of “uplifting the character of humanity and building a pure land on earth” for the benefit of the people in Thailand.
