DDM Vancouver cares for seriously ill children of Ronald McDonald House Charities

In 2006, Dharma Drum Mountain in Vancouver (DDM Vancouver) held a fundraising event for the seriously ill children of Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) and made a promise to the children that DDM Vancouver would return in the future. Before the Christmas holiday of 2008, DDM Vancouver fulfilled its promise of bringing the children peace and happiness.

On the afternoon of 6th December 2008, the choir of DDM Vancouver led by Mr. Zhang Jionghui and Mrs. Kuo Zhenni visited the RMHC sited in the Augus Drive district.

Its appearance showed no difference from the ordinary houses in the neighborhood, but it instilled an atmosphere of a "sweet home". In order to give the children a happy and warm surrounding, all ten members wore Santa hats and carried special gifts for a joyful surprise. Although members were not allowed to have physical contact with the children for the childrens' safety, every member remained passionate and sang traditional folk and Christmas songs, to the accompaniment of Mr. Zhang's acoustic guitar, hoping the songs would eventually bring peace and happiness to the lovely children of RMHC.

Before saying goodbye, the members on behalf of DDM Vancouver donated CAD$2,000 for the care of RMHC's children.
