DDM Vancouver donates to Richmond Hospital

On 3 October 2008, the Prior of Dharma Drum Mountain, Vancouver (DDM Vancouver), Venerable Guo Shu and nine other volunteers accepted an invitation to visit the local Richmond Hospital.

They had the opportunity to visit the hospital's Intensive Care, Post-operative Observation, Blood Collection and Chemotherapy Units as well as the Operating Theatre, Psychological Therapy Center for Children aged under five, Delivery Room and Hospice.

On 1 November 2008, Venerable Guo Shu accompanied by Wong Kuoxian, Sun Chongshan and Guo Zhenni donated a cheque on behalf of DDM Vancouver of CAD$10,000 to Richmond Hospital.

The donation will go towards the purchasing of a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) machine for the hospital's Radiology and X-ray Unit to increase the quality of care for the local community.

During an interview with the local media, Venerable Guo Shu conveyed DDM's message of the importance of promoting Spiritual Environmentalism in today's society which can only be done when one's body is in good health.
