DDM Malaysia hosts a charity sale for gratitude and fundraising

Dharma Drum Mountain Malaysia (DDM Malaysia) hosted a charity sale on 27 July 2008 to express their utmost gratitude to the peoples' long-term support and to raise funds for the construction of a new office. Preparation for the event took approximately one month, where the theme of "Living Environment" aimed to encourage people to cherish our resources and environment.

Items for sale included second-hand utensils and cloths, handicrafts made from recycled materials, Buddhist statues and vegetarian foods. DDM Malaysia aspired to share with participants the idea of "Living Environment" in a joyful and relaxed setting.

All enjoyed delicious vegetarian cuisine prepared by volunteers hoping to promote the good practice of vegetarianism. Children who attended the event were taught how to make toys by recycling waste resources. More importantly, publications of the Most Venerable Master Sheng Yen at the bookstall attracted many purchasers. This cheered up every volunteer on the scene.

The activity was successful and DDM Malaysia warmly thanked every volunteer's long-term contributions and selfless compassion.
