Abbot President urges the initiation of the Mind Relief Project

On the morning of August 18 2009, at Yunlai Monastery, Abbot President Venerable Guo Dong was briefed on DDM's relief efforts in regions hit by Typhoon Morakat, carried out between August 8th and 17th.

Abbot President expressed his appreciation to all relief workers and volunteers, and instructed the Dharma Drum Mountain Social Welfare and Charity Foundation (DDMSWCF) to initiate the Mind Relief Project in the affected regions, which will be the focal point in following DDM's relief works.

Having provided the survivors with relief supplies in the first phase, the project will focus on easing their afflicted and depressed minds, hoping they would soon regain peace and move on with courage and wisdom of the Dharma.

At the end of the session, the Abbot President called on everyone to act in compassion and join hands to help restore our lovely homeland.
