DDMSWCF Initiates the Fourth Award of Stipends in Sichuan
Vice Abbot President of Dharma Drum Mountain, Venerable Guo Pin, went to Sichuan, China from 18 to 22 October, 2010, to initiate the fourth award of stipends for disadvantaged students.
A total of 170 students from Mianyang High School, Nanshan High School, Anxian High School, Shifang High Scholl, Mingxin High School, and Xiushui First Primary School were granted the honor.
Venerable Guo Pin first blessed the students on behalf of the DDM Sangha Community, and then encouraged students to care for others often with compassion, to learn to manage their own vexations with the Dharma wisdom, and to face difficulties in life with courage and wisdom. He said that because our life is impermanent, all we can do is to live in the present and make the most of it for the creation of peace and happiness.
All of the students expressed words of gratitude and blessing toward DDM and one another in writing to conclude the proceedings.
