DDM Invites Young People to Meet Their Minds and Pray on Oct. 31

With today’s changing tides in society, where does your mind go and follow? Can you be brave enough to pursue your own values, stirring up your own tide of self-assurance? Dharma Drum for Young People cordially invites 300 young people of their own “mind tides” throughout the globe to join a rally on October 31 and November 1, to pray for blessings by chanting the Heart Sutra, thereby finding the power to calm the body-mind amidst the chaos and confusion of modern life.

2015 is the 10th anniversary for Dharma Drum Mountain World Center for Buddhist Education, and is also when Dharma Drum Institute of Liberal Arts starts recruiting students. In gratitude to DDM’s founder, Master Sheng Yen, as well as people who have contributed to and supported DDM, a gathering will be held at the Wish-Fulfilling Guanyin Hall on Dharma Drum Mountain on October 31, for young participants to meet, to pray for world peace, to make vows, as well as to light and pass on lamps of wisdom. On November 1, at the Assembly of DDM’s Global Followers, through the sharing of a hand gesture indicating purity and awakening, and along with the chanting of the Heart Sutra, tens of thousands of devotees and followers send out positive energy by praying for blessings for all the people in the world.

Maybe they were once lost or on-line addicts; in the diverse tidal waves of the younger generation, however, one can always create their own mental tides as long as they are willing to set out their inner journey.
