Abbot President attends the inaugural celebrations for The National Nuclear Emergency Response Center
On the morning of 17 November, 2011, Venerable Guo Dong (Abbot President of Dharma Drum Mountain) attended a ceremony for the inauguration of The National Nuclear Emergency Responses Center in the Jinshan district.
The Abbot President was honorably invited to attend the celebration by the magistrate of New Taipei City, Mr. Li-Lun Chu, along with the Director of The Atomic Energy Council, Mr. Chuan-Hung Tsai, the Chief of The Fire Department of New Taipei City, Mr. Der-Chin Huang and a legislator, Mr. Ching-Hwa Lee. He was also invited to jointly cut the red ribbon at the opening celebration, in order to officially open the center
In his greeting speech, Venerable Guo Dong expressed his pleasure in seeing the setup of The National Nuclear Emergency Response Center by the authorities of the Jinshan district, as there are two nuclear power plants in the neighboring area.
The Abbot President concluded by compassionately reminding people of the significance of mindfulness for attaining everlasting peace.
