DDMSWCF Contributes to Fundraising Campaign of Rissho University in Support of Tsunami-Affected Students
On 21 June, 2011, Dharma Drum Mountain Social Welfare and Charity Foundation (DDMSWCF) donated approximately JYD 3 million (about USD 37,377) to a fundraising campaign recently initiated by Japan’s Rissho University in support of Rissho’s tsunami-affected students.
The donation ceremony was conducted by Abbot President of Dharma Drum Mountain, Venerable Guo Dong.
Professor Kenyo Mitomo received the donation on behalf of Rissho University while concurrently attending the 16th Congress of the International Association of Buddhist Studies (IABS) that was held at the DDM World Center for Buddhist Education between June 20 and 25.
Professor Mitomo was delighted with DDM’s compassionate support for Rissho’s fundraising campaign in support of Rissho’s earthquake and tsunami-affected students. He gave his warmest gratitude for DDM’s compassion.
