Dharma Realm Buddhist University Visits DDM University & Buddhist College
An 18-member delegation representing Dharma Realm Buddhist University in the United States, led by Venerable Heng Sure, on 7 June 2011, paid their first visit to the Preparatory Office of Dharma Drum University and the Dharma Drum Buddhist College, hoping to advance future academic and cultural exchanges.
In the morning, the delegation first visited the Preparatory Office of Dharma Drum University, situated within Dharma Drum Degui Academy in Taipei City.
The President of Dharma Drum University, Professor An-Zhi Liu, warmly greeted and welcomed the honorable guests before briefing them on the development and operation of Dharma Drum University.
During what was a historic occassion, both also spent much time discussing how to promote academic exchange and cross-cultural enrichment.
Abbot President of Dharma Drum Mountain, Venerable Guo Dong, specially attended the lunch party held at the Dharma Drum Degui Academy to offer his personal blessing and to pass on the DDM Sangha Community’s greetings and warm wishes. A symbolic group photo was taken to commemorate the event.
That same afternoon, the guests visited the Dharma Drum Buddhist College that is situates within the DDM World Center for Buddhist Education at Jinshan District, New Taipei City.
The visitors were greeted by President of the Dharma Drum Buddhist College, Venerable Hui Min, who not only described the college’s development, but also took the guests on a tour around the DDM World Center, including the Grand Buddha Hall, the Funding History Memorial Hall, and the Wish-Fulfilling Guanyin Hall.
After the tour, a seminar was held at the Haihui Conference Room where the two parties expressed their anticipation at advancing exchanges in Buddhist studies in the near future.
