The Buddhist Association of Xiamen Visits DDM World Center

On 8 June, 2011, President of the Buddhist Association of Xiamen in mainland China (BAXM), Venerable Ze Wu, accompanied by 18 members, paid their first visit to Dharma Drum Mountain World Center for Buddhist Education in Jinshan Township, New Taipei County.

The Abbot President, Venerable Guo Dong, and Vice Abbot President of Dharma Drum Mountain, Venerable Guo Hui, warmly greeted the visitors upon their arrival.

The Abbot President then proceeded to lead the welcoming guided tour of the DDM Center for the honorable guests, visiting the Grand Buddha Hall, the Wish-Fulfilling Guanyin Hall, and the Founding History Memorial Hall.

The Abbot President introduced the concepts of ‘protecting the spiritual environment’ and ‘uplifting the character of humanity’ as the central focus of the DDM World Center. The DDM World Center strives to be a place where one can enjoy the happiness of Dharma through purifying the vexed mind and easing the exhausted body.

In addition to enjoying the beauty and tranquility of the DDM Center, Venerable Ze Wu also praised DDM’s long-term dedication to various social charities across the world, in line with the compassion of the Buddha and the late Venerable Master Sheng Yen, the Founder of DDM.

The visit ended with an exchange of gifts. Venerable Ze Wu on behalf of the Buddhist Association of Xiamen invited the Abbot President of DDM to visit them in Xiamen in the near future.
