Croatian Buddhist Followers Visit DDM World Center

Following a 16-day Dharma pilgrimage in mainland China, 11 members of Dharmāloka, Croatia, visited the Dharma Drum Mountain World Center for Buddhist Education from 26 to 30 April, 2011.

Dharmāloka is the largest Buddhist practice group in Croatia. Many members have participated in 7-day Chan programs held by the Chan Meditation Center in New York, and have faithfully followed the teachings of the late Venerable Master Sheng Yen. Some have even enthusiastically engaged in translating the Master’s English publications into the Croatian language for the promotion of the Dharma.

"We are finally home," said Mr. Zarko Andricevic, who is the leader of Dharmāloka and has inherited the compassion of the late Venerable Master Sheng Yen in the promotion of Buddhism in the west.

During the 5-day visit, the guests met the Abbot President Venerable Guo Dong, joined the Chan meditation programs held at the Chan Hall of the Center, shared their experiences of Chan practice with monastics of the DDM Sangha Community and also paid their first visit to the Tien Nan Monastery of DDM in Sanxia District, New Taipei City.
