The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) of the Republic of China has expressed gratitude to Dharma Drum Mountain Social Welfare and Charity Foundation (DDMSWCF) for their swift response in dispatching financial and material aid to assist those suffering from the deadly tsunami that occurred in northern Japan on 11 March 2011.

On 15 March, with an invitation of the MOFA, Secretary General of DDMSWCF, Venerable Guo Qi went to Taoyuan City to oversee the relief goods that were ready to be uploaded along with Administrative Deputy Minister of MOFA, Mr. Ssu-Tsun Shen, who later expressed his deepest gratitude to DDMSWCF on behalf of the MOFA.

On the same occasion, Venerable Guo Qi said that he sincerely thanked all the compassionate volunteers who packed the relief goods quickly and precisely to send to Japan. He also said that DDMSWCF will continue to pay the utmost concern over tsunami-afflicted people and assist them by any means necessary, in going through the hardship that lay ahead.

Lastly, Venerable Guo Qi entreated everyone to pray for tsunami victims in Japan with the DDM Sangha Community in line with the compassionate spirit of Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva.
