Linbian End-of-Year Philanthropic Party
On 22 January 2011, the Peace of Mind Relief Station in Linbian Township of Pintung County hosted the End-of-Year Philanthropic Party at the Chiang Yuan Primary School for economically disadvantaged households.
More than 200 locals attended the event. Venerable Chang Fa, Vice Secretary General of Dharma Drum Mountain Social Welfare and Charity Foundation (DDMSWCF) and many local celebrities were also present to offer their blessings and goodwill.
Venerable Chang Fa officially started the event by wishing every participant peace and wellbeing throughout the year of 2011.
The Magistrate of Linbian Township followed and expressed his gratitude for DDMSWCF’s long-term efforts towards rebuilding and recovery after severely damaging floods swept the township in 2008.
He said that DDMSWCF's compassion and valuable contributions had raised confidence and given hope to the people of Linbian in their darkest hour of need..
The party which included entertaining performances by volunteers proved to be a truly enjoyable and fun-filled event for all concerned. The event ended with the distribution of relief goods and financial aid.
