The inauguration of Peace of Mind Relief Station at Jiaxian Township to provide local victims with various assistance
On the morning of 15 November, 2009, the Peace of Mind Relief Station at Jiaxian Township of Kaohsiung County was formally inaugurated.
The inauguration ceremony commenced following the purification ritual conducted by the director of Dharma Drum Mountain Social Welfare and Charity Foundation (DDMSWCF), Venerable Guo Qi, and other venerables.
On the same day, DDMSWCF issued financial aid to 55 disadvantaged students in Jiaxian, hoping that this could offer students peace of mind when they return to school despite the hardships they face.
With the reconstruction efforts underway, Venerable Guo Qi encouraged the victims to keep a positive attitude and assured them that with a mind of gratitude, then they’ll be able to overcome difficulties. DDM will also do its best to help the victims to resolve the difficulties that lie ahead.
In future, DDMSWCF’s Peace of Mind Relief Station at Jiaxian will work closely with local humanitarian organizations and communities with the aim to offer assistance and to help strengthen the local economy.
