DDMSWCF offers relief aid and spiritual care in Padang, Indonesia
Following the devastating earthquake that caused severe causalities to the Padang district of Indonesia in early October of 2009, the relief team of Dharma Drum Mountain Social Welfare and Charity Foundation (DDMSWCF) headed to Padang on the morning of October 14th to provide the quake-affected people with the needed relief materials and spiritual care.
DDMSWCF’s relief work was a collaborative effort with the local Chinese societies and charity groups whose assistance helped overcome the difficulties of communication and transportation.
The team leader, Mr. Tu Li, stated that the relief team visited the hardest-hit districts of Padang, Pariaman and Agam to offer relief materials. Moreover, DDMSWCF is also much obliged to the local Chinese societies and charity groups for their assistance helped ensure the successful completion of the relief efforts.
