DDM celebrates the Mid-Autumn Festival

On the evening of 3 October 2009, Dharma Drum Mountain World Center for Buddhist Education hosted an event to celebrate the traditional Mid-Autumn Festival in the Wish Fulfilling Guanyin Hall.

The event program included a drumming performance by Fu-Der Primary School, a Chinese Guzheng solo by Ms. Xiaozi Wei and an eco-fashion show by five volunteer models.

Despite windy and rainy weather, seats placed in the hall had soon been filled ahead the event's formal beginning at 6:30 pm. The two-hour joyful event was full of laughter.

Abbot President Venerable Guo Dong introduced the event by offering his warmest blessing and noting that although it was raining outside making us unable to enjoy the bright moon this year, enthusiasm and compassion in our heart remain the same as long as one stays at peace. That is, one is empowered through the maxim - a mind at peace, a life at peace. By extension, if every one of us cultivates peace in mind, society as a whole would be more peaceful as well.

DDM warmly welcome you to come to the Center for Dharma joy and encourage you to continue staying close to Dharma wisdom.
