DDMSWCF sets up emergency relief centers in Ilan County

Although Typhoon Parma did not make landfall in Taiwan, the heavy rainfall it carried still flooded many townships in northeastern Taiwan, especially in the region of Ilan County, on October 6th, 2009.

In response to the disaster, Dharma Drum Mountain Social Welfare and Charity Foundation (DDMSWCF) swiftly set up relief shelters in every township office in Ilan County to offer help to those affected as well as established emergency relief centers in both Luodong City and Ilan City in order to provide immediate assistances.

Owing to the efforts of DDM’s volunteers, who anticipated the potential need and prepared relief aids before the arrival of the typhoon, the supply of relief materials was in place to be given to local residents.

DDMSWCF sincerely hopes that the humanitarian efforts could be of help to the affected so they can soon return to their peaceful lives once again.
