DDMSWCF sets up relief station at Liukuei Township

In the wake of Typhoon Morakat which inflicted severe floods on southern Taiwan and caused a deadly mudslide in eastern Taiwan between 7 and 9 August, Dharma Drum Mountain Social Welfare and Charity Foundation (DDMSWCF) set up a relief station at Liukuei Township of Kaohsiung County in southern Taiwan on 14 August.

The station is providing survivors with emergency materials and spiritual counseling in the hope that these measures will help to alleviate some of their burdens. DDMSWCF will also provide needs-based emergency subsidies and stipends to children of victims.

Vice Secretary of DDMSWCF Venerable Chang Fa said that Liukuei Township was hit hard by the typhoon and transportation to the outside was still difficult.

Venerable Chang Fa affirmed, however, that as long as there is a road ahead , DDMSWCF will continue its relief works for those in need in line with the spirit of Guanyin (Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva).
