DDMSWCF endows the female dormitory of Children’s House in Bumi Moro, Indonesia

Construction of the female dormitory of Children's House in Bumi Moro, Indonesia, which is endowed by Dharma Drum Mountain Social Welfare and Charity Foundation (DDMSWCF), has been successfully accomplished.

On 24 June 2009, Vice Secretary General of DDMSWCF, Venerable Chang Fa led the delegation to express DDM's warmest blessing and to preside the Inauguration Ceremony in Bumi Moro, Arch Province, Indonesia.

In addition to the DDM delegation, honorable guests from local authorities, NGO's and business circles and all the children and teachers of Children's House were also present at the celebratory ceremony.

In line with the compassionate instructions from the Most Venerable Master Sheng Yen, DDMSWCF quickly assembled relief teams that visited the Arch Province of Indonesia numerous times to proceed with humanitarian work following the deadly tsunami that affected many families and caused heavy causalities in Southeast Asia four years ago.

DDMSWCF had mapped out the "Five-Year Relief Plan in Arch" to give long-term assistance to the victims, which includes providing spiritual counseling with the Dharma.

Over the past four years, DDMSWCF has been heavily involved in many reconstruction works in Arch, including kindergarten, primary school, high school and local library.

The completion of the female dormitory and its associated facilities in the Children's House are expected to increase the quality of care for orphans and to extend more services to those in need.
