DDM Vesak Festival

Dharma Drum Mountain Sangha Community held the Vesak Festival at the DDM World Center for Buddhist Education in Jinshan Township. Commenced on 1 May 2009, the three-day event commemorated the birth of Sakyamuni Buddha.

DDM arranged various activities including 'Devotional Chanting of Amitabha Buddha', exhibitions of Master Sheng Yen’s personal items and archives, lighting candles and praying for blessings, and scribing the sutras in gratitude. The Sangha community warmly welcomed everyone to participate in the activities conducted to purify the mind, to experience the Dharma joy, and to make and renew compassionate vows. Devotees were also treated to delicious coffee.

DDM branches and centers around the world also celebrated this festival to honor the birth of Sakyamuni Buddha and Mother’s Day.
