The Chung Hwa Institute of Buddhist Studies financially supports Columbia University to set up the Academic Publication Fund of Chinese Buddhism
The Chung Hwa Institute of Buddhist Studies of Dharma Drum Mountain has announced a partnership with Columbia University in the United States of America to create the Academic Publication of Chinese Buddhism Fund. The goal is to encourage more scholars to study Chinese Buddhism and has commenced with a US$250,000 donation approved by Taiwan's Ministry of Education.
According to the agreement signed by the two organizations, Columbia University will publish at least two Buddhist publications annually. The publications will be supervised by Dr. Yu Chunfang, a Professor in Chinese Buddhism at Columbia University. The Fund will enhance the level of academic research in Chinese Buddhism and promote Chinese Buddhism throughout Western society.
