The DDM Foundation of Great Love, Culture and Education Receives Award for its long-term contribution towards social education
On the morning of 27 December 2008, the Education Bureau of Taipei County Government awarded Dharma Drum Mountain Foundation of Great Love, Culture and Education for its long-term contribution towards social education.
The Award Ceremony was an initiative by the government to recognize the achievement of all award recipients for their contribution in ensuring the passion for learning is kept alive in today’s society. The DDM Foundation of Great Love, Culture and Education is one of eight recipients recognized for their long-term commitment towards social education.
The Deputy Prior of DDM, Venerable Guo Xing, accepted this honorable award from the Director of Education Bureau, Mr. He-Ran Liou, on behalf of the Foundation.
Venerable Guo Xing said that through the scholarship program, students will have a fairer opportunity for education and hopefully it will encourage students to return this gift of great love back into society in the future.
Director Liou said in his speech that education can not just be limited to the campus alone, our country should develop ways to cultivate a more beneficial environment, a commitment towards a lifelong learning for its people.
