DDMSWCF lends a helping hand to the elderly in Pintung County
Nine volunteers from Dharma Drum Mountain Social Welfare and Charity Foundation (DDMSWCF) living in Pintung County, the Southern-most county in Taiwan, organized a meaningful five-day event of visiting the elderly living in Pintung’s Zhaochou Township from 17 to 21 September, 2010.
The event took place ahead of the Full Moon Festival on 22 September and was also a way of extending DDMSWCF’s warmest blessings and aids to the elderly.
Volunteers led by Mr. Ruixian Chen not only visited them but also donated daily necessities and gifts which were gratefully accepted by the elders, who in return, expressed their sincere and grateful appreciation towards DDMSWCF.
At the end of the program, every volunteer was deeply moved and vowed to continue their efforts to extend their care and services to those who live in remote areas for compassion.
