DDM hosts the Prayer Ritual in Taichung and the Liang Emperor’s Repentance Ritual for Baoyun Monastery in Taichung

Dharma Drum Mountain hosted the Prayer Ritual and the Liang Emperor's Repentance Ritual in honour of the establishment of Baoyun Monastery, from 4 April to 10 April at Feng Chia University in central Taiwan, Taichung City.

The seven-day event served to commemorate the ancestors, and to call upon people to pray for inner peace and for the elimination of self-karma, as well as to uphold the establishment of Baoyun Monastery in Taichung.

Abbot President, Venerable Guo Dong, firstly extended his warmest blessing on behalf of the DDM Sangha Community to everyone who attended the event. He proclaimed Dharma Drum Mountain's philosophy of 'Protecting the Spiritual Environment' as the priority for the interest of sentient beings, encouraging the study of the Dharma and the application of the Dharma to daily life for health, happiness and peace.

According to the late Venerable Master Sheng Yen's plan, Baoyun Monastery is to be the center of education in Taichung, purpose-built to provide the people of central Taiwan with a qualified place for learning the Dharma and practicing the Chan (Zen) meditation.
