Abbot President of DDM Offers Care at the Disastrous Area Caused by the Tragic Gas Explosion in Kaohsiung

On August 4th, the Abbot President of DDM, Ven. Guo Dong, headed to the disastrous area of deadly gas (propylene) explosion in Kaohsiung and offered care to the family members of the victims killed in the tragedy. There, the Abbot President encouraged everyone to chant the sacred name of the Buddha “Amithaba,” which will settle ourselves down and transfer the merits of chanting Buddha’s name to the deceased family members.

In addition, the Abbot President also specially offered care to the staff, volunteers, firemen, reserve soldiers and soldiers cleaning the chemicals and showed his gratitude for these heroes’ selfless and compassionate devotion. In addition, he recommended that those who are suffered from the catastrophe and the family members who still lose contact with the Secretary-General, Lin Kee-Zhe, and the Squad Leader, Liu Yao-Wen, of Kaohsiung City Government Fire Bureau should chant the Buddha’s name or prayers to pacify the sorrowful emotions.

On August 17th, DDM Ziyun Monastery will hold the Ritual of Mindfulness in Three Sessions for the salvation and prayer of the injured and deceased suffered from domestic and overseas accidents recently. On top of that, DDM and its affiliates will continuously set up tablets of prayer in related Dharma assemblies and keep contact with the related units to offer care to people in the disastrous area.
