Zhaiming Monastery Celebrates Vesak Day

On the morning of 5 May 2013, the Zhaiming Monastery of Dharma Drum Mountain in Taoyuan City held a Dharma assembly in celebration of Vesak Day.

The assembly began with devotees chanting Buddhist scriptures together and praying in honor of the Buddha in the Grand Buddha Hall, followed by an activity to honor aged people by serving them each a cup of hot tea, as well as by offering them blessings.

Director of the Zhaiming Monastery Venerable Guo Yai briefed the participants on the history of the Vesak Day and on the meaning of bathing the Buddha statue, as well as encouraged them to walk on the paths that Bodhisattva had taught for nursing wisdom and merit.
