The Republic of China’s (Taiwan) Premier Yi-Huah Jiang and his wife Mrs. Shu-Zhen Lee visited Dharma Drum Mountain World Center for Buddhist Education on the afternoon of 16 March 2013, in remembrance of the late Venerable Master Sheng Yen.

Both Abbot President, Venerable Guo Dong, and Vice Abbot President, Venerable Guo Hui, personally received them, and accompanied the couple to visit the Eco-Friendly Garden of the Center where Master Sheng Yen’s ashes are buried. The guests paid respectful tribute to the Master.

Premier Jiang said that the first meeting in 2006 with the Master was still distinct in his memory, and that he had been much impressed by the Master’s humanistic philosophies and Buddhist compassion.

In addition to thanking DDM’s warm hospitality, the Premier encouraged the DDM Sangha to stay on the path as led by Venerable Master Sheng Yen to foster social harmony.
