DDM Holds Third Chan Camp for Youths

The Winter Chan Camp for Youths 2013 was held by Dharma Drum Young Buddhists Society (DDYBS) at the Education Center for Protecting the Spiritual Environment in the Sanyi Township of Miaoli County on 21 January, 2013.

It was the third time that the DDYBS had organized the Winter Chan Camp for Youths, and this time, it attracted a total of 119 young people from Taiwan, mainland China, Malaysia and Singapore.

The 7-day program was well organized and inspirational, enabling students to set themselves free from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and to settle their busy minds, discover their inner self and potential as well as explore the future. The program included activities such as Outdoor Chan, Walking Chan while holding a Bowl of Water and Preliminary Chan Meditation.

The program started with a video of the late Venerable Master Sheng Yen’s Dharma Talk, followed by self-introductions and reflections on life from each participant. The camp finished with Q&A sessions, where several Venerables of the DDM Sangha answered questions posted by students and shared their Chan learning and experience with each other.
