DDM signs the Third Humanistic Lecture Accord with Peking University

The President of Dharma Drum Buddhist College (DDBC), Venerable Hui Min and President of Dharma Drum Mountain Community University Mr. Chi-Chuan Tseng, signed the humanistic lecture accord on behalf of Dharma Drum Mountain (DDM) with Peking University on the 7th November 2012.

It was the third time that DDM has entered into an agreement with Peking University for setting up humanistic lectures to promote the idea of ‘Protecting the Spiritual Environmentalism’ in mainland China. This collaboration supports the idea of promoting social harmony that the late Master Sheng Yen, the founder of DDM, had actively advocated for many years.

Abbot President Venerable Guo Dong commented that Peking University is an internationally renowned institution, and that this collaboration not only promotes the Master’s compassionate philosophies, but also provides opportunities for more collaboration between DDM and Peking University.

President of Peking University, Dr. Jifeng Zhou, said that the collaborations between two institutions were concerted and constructive in the past and it is also promising to see that there are students from DDM studying at Peking this year. He is optimistic that the agreement with DDM on promoting humanistic education will bring further interests to both institutions.
