The Nung Chan Monastery Celebrates the Mid-Autumn Festival 2012

On the evening of 30 September 2012, the Nung Chan Monastery celebrated the 2012 Mid-Autumn Festival with hundreds of devoted followers and performances by the Lodong Dharma Drum Team, Nungchan Dharma Drum Team and other musical items.

DDM’s Abbot President, Venerable Guo Dong, attended the event to offer his personal blessings to participants, expressing thanks to volunteers for their selfless contributions. He noted that the Mid-Autumn Festival is an occasion for family re-union as well as contemplating a full bright moon which may represent the bodhi mind, full of compassion and wisdom.

The Abbot President reminded participants to return home often for family reunions; and that likewise, the Nung Chan Monastery can be seen as a home for our minds.

Director of the Nung Chan Monastery, Venerable Guo Can, thanked all the volunteer who helped make the evening a success, and encouraged people who attended to return to celebrate the opening of ‘The Shuiyue Practice Center of Nung Chan Monastery’, scheduled for 29 December 2012.
