DDM Celebrates Mid-Autumn Festival Across the Island

On 30 September, 2012 Dharma Drum Mountain (DDM) celebrated traditional Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival across the island, including the Ziyun Monastery in Kaohsiung, the Yunji Monastery in Tainan, the Xinxing Monastery in Taitung and the DDM World Center for Buddhist Education in Jinshang District, New Taipei City.

Activities organized by volunteers in every monastery were inspirational, energetic, and full of fun. Some of these activities included a tea party, chorus performance, a calligraphy exhibition and traditional dancing. In addition, birthday parties for local residents over 70 years old were held at the monasteries. DDM’s warmest blessings and care for the community was offered at the festival.

Venerable Guo Zhan, Director of the Xinxing Monastery, commented that DDM used a different approach to celebrate the festival with local residents and to engage the community in uplifting the character of humanity.
