DDMSWCF Offers Care and Relief at Taima -Taitung County

The Dharma Drum Mountain Social Welfare and Charity Foundation went to the Taima Township in Taitung County offering care and relief to people suffering from the effects of Typhoon Tembin, which hit the area on the 24th of August 2012.

According to a Taima town spokesperson, Mr. Cheng-Chun Chen, Taima and other townships of Taitung were actually hit by two typhoons. Firstly by Typhoon Saola on 2 August and then Typhoon Tembien on 24 August. These typhoons left much damage to Taitung’s residents, especially those financially disadvantaged people in the area. On behalf of Taima’s residents he expressed his gratitude to DDMSWCF’s fast relief efforts.

Venerable Guo Zen, Director of Xinxing Monastery of DDM in Taitung said, on behalf of DDMSWCF, that DDM’s care is boundless. He stated that DDM is there to bring compassion and blessings to those in need and to share the Dharma for healing those who are hurting.
