DDMSWCF Holds a 5-Day Camp at Grand Buddha Chan Monastery, Sichuan

Dharma Drum Mountain Social Welfare and Charity Foundation held a 5-day camp at the Grand Buddha Chan Monastery in Sichuan, mainland China, from 4-8 August, 2012, promoting the idea of ‘Protecting the Spiritual Environment’ which was advocated by the late Venerable Master Sheng Yen, the founder of Dharma Drum Mountain.

In addition to the camp volunteers and instructors, there were a total of 104 college students from Taiwan, Canada, and mainland China who attended the event. The camp was designed to guide the students on how to gradually explore their true inner self and to get acquainted with the essence of life through relaxation of the body and mind.

Vice Abbot President of DDM, Venerable Guo Pin, also attended the event to offer his warmest blessings on the first day. In his opening message, Venerable Guo Pin said that the key to a promising and bright future is to light up and open the heart from the inside - if one is willing to do this, then the future will indeed be rewarding and fulfilling.
