DDM World Center Hosts 2nd Chan Camp for Youths Across the Strait

On the morning of 25 July 2012, 170 students and monastics participated in the 2nd Chan Camp for Youths Across the Strait conducted by the DDM World Center for Buddhist Education where they learned and experienced DDM’s unique Chan traditions.

Co-organized by Venerable Ming Kuang of the Buddhist Association of Taipei (BAT) and Venerable Jinxin of Xiamen Buddhist Association (XBA), the students visited the DDM World Center filled with gratitude. Venerable Ming Kuang expressed the students’ gratitude on their behalf. They were greatly inspired by the activities conducted such as carrying the water bowl, and learned how to incorporate relaxation techniques into present moment.

Abbot President of DDM Venerable Guo Dong welcomed the guests, and introduced to them the culture of Chan, DDM’s sustainable architecture and the late Venerable Master Sheng Yen’s vision and philosophies. He also invited the students to further their studies at the Dharma Drum Buddhist College and the Dharma Drum Sangha University in order to propagate the Dharma.
