DDMHSIF announces the winners of the 4th Caring for Life Award
The Dharma Drum Mountain Humanitarian and Social Improvement Foundation (DDMHSIF) announced the winners of the 4th Caring for Life Award in the afternoon of 24th of July 2012 at Taipei’s DDM Degui Academy.
DDMHSIF presented the Group Award to the Sunshine Social Welfare Foundation and the Individual Compassion Award to Dr.Rong-Chi Chen, the former President of the En Chu Kong Hospital at New Taipei City.
The Special Achievement Award this year was presented to His Eminence Cardinal Paul Kuo-His Shan for his long-term contribution on promoting life education. Finally, the Individual Wisdom Award was presented to Dr. Sherry Y. Chen, a Chair Professor of the Graduate Institute of Network Learning Technology at Taiwan’s National Central University,
There were a total of 11 organizations and 22 individuals nominated for the prizes. The judges of the awards comprised Venerable Guo Dong, the Abbot President of Dharma Drum Mountain, Dr. Fu Chien, the President of Cathy Charity Foundation, Ms Irene Chen, the Director of Fubon Cultural and Education Foundation, Dr. Wu-Hsiung Chen, the former Minister of the Council of Agriculture of the Executive Yuan and Dr. Shih-Cheng Huang, the President of the Taiwan Heritage Foundation.
